Travel RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940–$2,040
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Schedule: 3 night shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Typical Assignment: Approximately 1:5 patient ratio
• Float Requirement: Float to other acute-care units as needed
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Some weekends and holidays required; at least 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting: Epic electronic health record (EHR)

Med/Surg Telemetry Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact RN license in hand
• At least 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience in an acute-care setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Ability to complete required credentialing, fingerprinting, and compliance steps promptly
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, adaptability, and teamwork skills
• ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications are valued where applicable

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Complete patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, documentation, and patient education
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs and manage central lines, PICC lines, ports, and related therapies
• Care for patients with complex cardiac, neurologic, renal, orthopedic, respiratory, and postoperative diagnoses
• Manage oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, feeding tubes, wound care, wound vacs, chest tubes, PCA therapy, and blood products as indicated
• Follow applicable protocols for heparin, insulin, dysrhythmia management, isolation precautions, and noninvasive airway support
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, IV teams, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Adapt efficiently when floating to different units while maintaining high-quality, patient-centered care
