Staff Accountant

Position Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Ashburn, VA – Onsite

Assignment Type: Temp-to-Permanent

Compensation: $25–$36/hour | $65,000–$80,000 upon conversion

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounts receivable activities
• Complete monthly account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly schedules and sales reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP
• Support journal entries, account analysis, and other general accounting activities
• Assist with financial reporting and accounting-related projects
• Work closely with senior accounting leadership to resolve discrepancies
• Communicate professionally with internal employees, customers, and vendors
• Identify accounting issues or opportunities for process improvement
• Support additional projects and functions across the accounting and finance department as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2+ years of Staff Accountant or related accounting experience preferred
• Sharp recent Accounting or Finance graduates will also be considered
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Sage Intacct experience is a plus
• Strong organizational, mathematical, and analytical abilities
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, and vendors
• Quick learner with the ability to work at an above-average pace
• Self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities and proactively addresses issues
