Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial reporting, job costing, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
This position is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in real estate, property management, construction, development, or project-based accounting environments. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting project cost tracking, and assisting with financial analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and variances.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
- Support continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial records and reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Generate financial reports and provide analysis to support business decisions.
- Maintain and monitor work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and job costing data.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- Property accounting experience.
- Experience with Yardi and/or JD Edwards.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with job costing and project-based accounting.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commercial and/or residential real estate accounting experience.
- Experience tracking project costs, budgets, and financial variances.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working in manual/non-QuickBooks accounting environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with work-in-progress (WIP) reporting.
- Construction or development accounting experience.
- Experience working in multi-entity accounting environments.
- Experience supporting external audits and financial reporting processes.
