Step into an impactful educational setting and help shape student success as a contract Special Education Teacher supporting high school learners in the Springfield, OH area. This position calls on professionals passionate about making a difference and working collaboratively with students, staff, and families. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 2027, offering stability and the chance to build trusting connections.
Qualifications:
- Valid OH ODE Intervention Specialist certification covering grades K-12
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and creativity when adapting instruction for diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned with IEP goals for a caseload of approximately 24 students
- Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Partner with general education teachers to support inclusive classroom practices
- Maintain timely, thorough documentation and progress reporting
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and educational teams to ensure consistent support for each student
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages all learners to achieve their potential
