Willson Jones Carter & Baxley, P. A. is a well-established and growing insurance defense law firm with seven offices located across Georgia, South Carolina & North Carolina. We handle workers' compensation and general liability matters for insurance carriers, employers' businesses, and government entities. Started in 2002, the WJCB team is over 200 people strong and growing. . Known for our client-centered approach, Willson Jones Carter & Baxley is committed to delivering responsive representation and excellent legal services. We also strive to provide an enjoyable, supportive home where all team members can flourish and succeed.
We are currently expanding and looking for an experienced Litigation Attorney in our Charleston, SC office .
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Consulting with clients
- Attending hearings
- Taking Depositions
- Preparing and responding to motions
- Preparing and responding to discovery
- Attending mediations and trials
- Adhering to the Firm's Code of Ethics, company policies, and operating principles
Ideal Qualifications:
- SC License in good standing and SC Rule 403 compliance.
- Must have at least 1 year of civil litigation experience.
- Detail-oriented, diligent, and results-driven team player.
- Experience in drafting briefs and other legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong research, organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent client services skills.
- Experience taking depositions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of state and federal court practices.
