SC Associate Attorney (Medical Malpractice & General Litigation)

Role Description

Join our medical malpractice litigation team representing hospitals, physicians, nurses and other medical professionals in liability and medical malpractice matters in South Carolina. This is a full-time, remote role for an Attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in the medical malpractice arena. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, conducting discovery, drafting legal documents, and participating in all phases of litigation, including depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and a strong communicator with excellent writing and analytical skills. This position offers flexible, remote work primarily based in Charleston, South Carolina. Salary based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

· Participate in the management of malpractice cases from initial investigation through resolution

ensuring deadlines and litigation milestones are met.

· Develop defense strategies in collaboration with partners and medical experts.

· Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts and appear in court for motions,

hearings, and other proceedings.

· Prepare and respond to written discovery.

· Review medical records, understand standards of care, and work with medical experts to assess

liability, causation, and damages.

· Maintain regular communication with healthcare clients to provide updates, develop defense strategy,

and manage expectations.
