Your Role on the Team Position Summary The Cardiovascular Technologist (Special Procedures Tech) performs technical duties during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures, ensuring patient safety with respect to radiation exposure and overall procedural support. The role rotates between scrub and monitor duties and includes a 30‑minute on‑call response requirement. Department Procedures (Examples) Coronary angiogram/angioplasty Peripheral angiogram/angioplasty Neuro interventional angiogram/angioplasty Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and thoracic vessel repair Neuro coronary peripheral pulmonary thrombectomy Central/port placement and removal Electrophysiology procedures including ablation Cardiac rhythm management (CRM) procedures Transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) Cardioversion Required Qualifications Degree from an accredited radiologic technologist school Current ARRT license, California CRT license, and California fluoroscopy license Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications Non‑violent crisis intervention certification within 30 days of hire Minimum of one year of acute care experience Full command of the English language (verbal and written) Ability to fulfill essential job functions and demonstrate customer service skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Ability to maintain a work pace suitable for workload demands Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the health system Preferred Qualifications Experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory, interventional radiology, or special procedures; diagnostic experience may be considered Knowledge of university and medical center policies, procedures, and forms Total Rewards UCI Health offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical insurance, paid sick and vacation time, retirement savings plans, and various discounts and perks.
