TEMP Interim Controller

A great UHY client is seeking an Interim Controller . The ideal candidate will have controllership experience, ERP implementation experience, and engineering industry experience.

The Interim Controller role is a remote position. This is a temporary, contract position.

Interim Controller Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and other key financial analyses.
• Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Manage daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to a team of junior accounting professionals.
• Support ERP implementation and go-live activities, including process improvements and system optimization.
• Identify gaps in accounting processes and implement solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Partner with leadership to support business objectives and financial decision-making.
• Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements where needed.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting and finance initiatives as assigned.

Interim Controller Requirements

• Proven experience serving in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong experience with month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
• Experience leading and developing accounting staff.
• Ability to effectively manage teams through organizational change and process improvements.
• Strong systems aptitude and experience supporting ERP implementations or system go-live projects.
• Experience working in the engineering industry is preferred.
• Experience with Deltek Advantage is preferred.
• Experience with BlackLine is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly assess challenges, prioritize work, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
