Position Summary The Department of Pharmacy Practice invites full‑time faculty candidates for Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the Feik School of Pharmacy. This non‑tenure‑track faculty position will provide acute care clinical services at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Official duties and responsibilities of faculty members at the University include teaching, scholarship, service, and professional activities. All matters require the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. See the Human Resources webpage for detailed eligibility. Essential Functions Participate in curriculum development and advancement of the respective program. Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive didactic course lectures aligned with curriculum goals. Teach in the experiential curriculum and provide clinical pharmacy service to acutely ill patients. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met. Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams, projects, and assessments for assigned courses. Advise and mentor students; provide individual assistance during weekly office hours. Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom. Perform regular scholarly research and publication. Provide service to the respective department, college, university, community, and profession. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Engage and effectively provide instructional delivery to facilitate learning. Proficiency in the use of instructional technology. Actively engage students in the learning process. Conduct respectful relationships with students both in and outside the classroom. Work with students, patients, multidisciplinary providers, and pharmacy staff to optimize patient care. Work collegially and productively within the university community. Work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Required Education Doctor of Pharmacy Degree Required Work Experience Completion of two (2) years of postgraduate residency training in internal medicine, family medicine, pharmacotherapy, or equivalent experience. Significant experience in managing common conditions in the acute care setting. Preferred Qualifications Previous faculty experience in a school of pharmacy. Clinical experience in internal medicine or family medicine. Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or another applicable specialty. Required Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations Licensed pharmacist and eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Texas. Expected to become a certified preceptor with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy once hired. Must obtain and maintain credentialing with the practice site. Work Hours Typical Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional extended hours and weekends as needed. Physical Demands Typical for faculty in this discipline.
