Position Details Position Title: Lecturer Criminal Justice – SPS Academic Year: 2026-2027 Job Type: Part Time Number of Vacancies: 4 Reports to: Dean SPS Salary: $300 – $3,500 based on student count Open Date: 06/11/2026 Close Date: 04/30/2027 Position Summary The School of Professional Studies invites part‑time faculty candidates for Lecturer, Criminal Justice. Faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics in accordance with the UIW Mission. Official duties include teaching and professional activities as assigned. Applicants will be hired as needed during the academic year beginning summer 2026. Part‑time faculty are assigned for one term at a time. Essential Functions Prepare course outlines and teach based on approved departmental syllabi; deliver consistent, interactive lectures. May be given the opportunity to design and update courses as needed. Prepare and administer timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met. Be available outside of class to help students learn and answer questions (1 hour per 3‑hour class, physically and/or electronically). Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies, including timely record‑keeping, fair evaluation, and feedback to students. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students in and outside the classroom. Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to deliver all instruction online. Ability to effectively learn, use, and incorporate instructional technology into teaching. Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Required Education Graduate instruction: Doctorate in Criminal Justice, or Doctorate in another discipline with at least 18 credit hours in Criminal Justice. Undergraduate instruction: Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, or Master’s Degree in another discipline with at least 18 credit hours in Criminal Justice. Required Work Experience Experience teaching Criminal Justice in a college or university setting. Relevant training/teaching experience in other settings or significant industry experience in this field will be considered in lieu of the required experience.
