Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant - Snelling Staffing Location: Louisville, KY Salary: $60,000-$70,000 (commensurate with experience) Snelling Staffing is partnering with a successful feed and seed manufacturing company to find a motivated Entry‑Level Cost Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early‑career professional looking to gain hands‑on accounting experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Collect, analyze, and report cost data related to materials, labor, and overhead. Assist with inventory valuation and conduct regular physical inventory counts. Perform variance analysis to identify differences between standard and actual costs. Prepare cost reports, ad hoc reports, dashboards, and forecasts for management. Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities. Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations. Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions. Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. 2-4 years of accounting experience; exposure to light manufacturing environments is a plus. Working toward or interest in obtaining CMA or CPA designation preferred. Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems such as Acumatica is a plus.
