Overview Physician for Emergency Department needed. Compensation Competitive compensation package includes: Salaried position includes nights, weekends, and holiday differential Sign on bonus Full benefits Professional dues/licensure allowance CME allowance Moving expense allowance Schedule and Patient Load 12 hour shifts. # patients seen/year: approximately 11,000. Level III trauma center, moderately high acuity level for a rural hospital. Practice Details Anesthesia support including one MD, 3 CRNAs available at all times. Local specialties available for consult and ED patient evaluation: general surgery, urology, internal medicine/hospitalists, radiology, OB/gyn, and ortho. Backup support from family medicine physicians and other ED physicians as needed. Actively recruiting a full time general orthopedic surgeon. In house 24/7 respiratory therapy, radiology, and lab staff. Ultrasound available on call. Radiology consults available after hours via PACS system. Stroke robot program with the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Private ambulance service in town. Overall payor mix: 39% Medicare; 50% insurance; 9% Medicaid; 2% cash. EMR system used. Eligibility Experienced or new physician who is board certified or eligible in family medicine, emergency medicine, or internal medicine. Requirements Board Eligible or Certified Emergency Medicine Physician. Interest in long term practice in the area.
