Position Overview Calm Seas Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. Work Environment This position is based in a community health clinic setting, offering a flexible remote work arrangement that allows you to consult with clients from the comfort of your home. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with potential flexibility to accommodate client needs. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate seamless communication and maintain accurate electronic health records, ensuring efficient service delivery. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to understand patients' individual experiences, strengths, and challenges, and develop personalized treatment plans. Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, adjusting your approach to suit the unique cultural and personal contexts of each client. Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, utilizing skills in active listening, empathy, and evidence-based practices to foster connection and healing. Collaborate actively with multidisciplinary team members such as psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to deliver coordinated, holistic care. Offer timely crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, ensuring that patients receive the help they need when they need it most. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to empower them in their recovery journey. Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation that adheres to legal and ethical guidelines. Actively participate in team meetings, case conferences, and professional development opportunities related to cultural competence and clinical excellence. Patient Population / Client Focus Our client base reflects a rich tapestry of cultural and ethnic identities, including underrepresented groups such as LGBTQ+ individuals and immigrants. As a therapist, you will play a crucial role in addressing the unique mental health needs of these populations, helping them navigate challenges such as cultural adjustment, stigma, and access to care. Your understanding of the barriers faced by these clients will enhance the therapeutic relationship, improving overall outcomes and community engagement. Qualifications Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A valid and current license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas. Thorough understanding of mental health disorders, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices, with a focus on cultural competence. Experience delivering individual and group therapy, ideally incorporating culturally responsive methods. Exceptional crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed in high-stakes situations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and fundamental computer applications. Commitment to ethical practice, professional boundaries, and confidentiality in all interactions. A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively in a team-oriented environment. Preferred Experience Demonstrated experience in working with multicultural communities and addressing the specific mental health needs of these populations. Prior involvement in program development or initiatives that enhance service delivery to marginalized groups. Advanced knowledge of contemporary issues in mental health and cultural considerations in therapeutic settings. Compensation and Benefits The annual compensation for this role ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience.
