Operations Manager

About the Position This assignment will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to the day‑to‑day operations of the facility, including the overseeing and management of the following areas such as KPI achievement, inventory integrity, continuous improvement, and employee development of direct reports within their operational responsibilities. This is accomplished by following all standard operating procedures, standard work, and work instructions as well as customer provided documentation. The role also involves budgeting and financial results for areas of responsibility, ensuring all warehouse personnel comply with SOPs, personnel policies, and workload demands, and meeting daily productivity goals with supervisors, foremen, and leads. Key Responsibilities Implementation of special projects assigned that impact warehouse operations for both the site and the network. Analysis of operations on a continuing basis to make necessary improvements to ensure cross‑functional operating efficiencies in the warehouse, including throughput information, capacity planning, and financial information. Assist with the Kenco site budget process and help ensure net income is maximized through proper management of controllable costs, identifying and communicating any differences impacting this metric. Plan, develop, and implement organizational policies and goals. Support and work closely with safety, human resources, and engineering to promote productivity improvement programs. Ensure implementation of network best practices in the facility and foster a safe work environment. Continuously develop staff to ensure capable management succession, manage customer inventory with sound security policies and procedures, review operating and financial reports, and take corrective action constructively with employees. Hire and downsize staff as needed, maintain daily department productivity, and support site commitment to the Kenco Operating System (KOS). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four‑year college and three years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or related fields. Minimum of three years of leadership experience. Strategic Agility – Balance daily tasks with strategic actions impacting long‑term viability. Travel Requirements This position is expected to travel approximately 25% or less. A passport is not required, but recommended.
