Operations Manager - 1st Shift

This assignment will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to the day-to-day operations of the facility including the overseeing and management of the following areas such as KPI achievement, inventory integrity, continuous improvement and employee development of direct reports within the scope of their operational responsibilities. This is accomplished by following all standard operating procedures, standard work and work instructions as well as customer provided documentation. Responsibilities Oversee and manage day-to-day operations, KPI achievement, inventory integrity, continuous improvement, and employee development of direct reports. Follow all standard operating procedures, standard work, work instructions, and customer documentation. Manage budgeting and financial results for assigned areas. Ensure all warehouse personnel comply with SOPs, personnel policies, and workload demands. Meet daily with Supervisors, Foremen, and Leads to ensure productivity goals are met or exceeded. Implement special projects assigned that impact warehouse operations for the site and the network. Analyze operations continuously to recommend improvements for cross‑functional operating efficiencies. Analyze throughput, capacity planning, and financial information. Assist with the site budget process and maximize net income through proper cost management. Plan, develop, and implement organizational policies and goals. Collaborate with safety, human resources, and engineering to promote productivity‑improvement programs. Ensure implementation of network best practices and Kenco Operating System (KOS) throughout the facility. Develop staff to build capable management succession plans. Manage customer inventory, ensuring sound security policies and accounting practices. Review activity, operating, and financial reports to determine necessary changes. Motivate, train, supervise, and evaluate subordinates. Take corrective action constructively with employees who cause workplace issues. Hire and downsize staff as needed. Maintain daily department productivity and EIP/LM statistics. Promote a safe work environment by practicing safe work procedures and following all safety rules. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four‑year college and at least three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination. Minimum of five years of experience in warehousing, distribution, or a related field. Minimum of three years of leadership experience. Business Acumen – knowledge of policies, practices, trends, and technologies affecting the business. Communicate for Impact – ability to articulate strategic vision, priorities, and progress. Leading People – develop and implement strategies to maximize employee performance and engagement. Managing Transitions / Change Management – plan, manage, and communicate process changes. Relationship Management – build and maintain relationships with internal partners. Strategic Agility – balance daily tasks with strategic actions for long‑term viability. Travel Requirements Approximately 25% or less travel. A passport is not required, but recommended.
