Treatment Coordinator
Dental Treatment Coordinator – Sales Focus
The Dental Treatment Coordinator is a patient-focused sales professional responsible for converting recommended dental treatment into scheduled and completed care. This position combines dental knowledge, relationship building, financial consultation, and strong closing skills to help patients confidently move forward with treatment.
The Treatment Coordinator owns the treatment presentation and follow-up process, with a strong focus on case acceptance, production growth, and an exceptional patient experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Present treatment plans confidently and persuasively to patients.
- Convert diagnosed treatment into accepted and scheduled treatment.
- Build trust with patients and identify barriers preventing them from moving forward.
- Clearly communicate the value, benefits, and urgency of recommended treatment.
- Discuss treatment costs, insurance benefits, financing, payment plans, and available financial options.
- Overcome financial and scheduling objections while maintaining a patient-first approach.
- Maintain an active pipeline of patients considering treatment and drive them toward a decision.
- Partner closely with doctors to create effective treatment presentations.
- Maximize same-day scheduling and treatment acceptance whenever appropriate.
- Track individual performance, including case acceptance percentage, dollars presented, dollars accepted, scheduled production, and outstanding treatment.
- Meet or exceed established monthly production and case-acceptance goals.
- Identify opportunities for additional treatment based on the doctor's recommendations.
- Create urgency without creating pressure, ensuring patients understand the consequences of delaying necessary care.
- Maintain strong relationships with patients throughout the decision-making and treatment process.

This role is ideal for someone who is competitive, persuasive, goal-oriented, confident discussing money, and comfortable being held accountable to sales metrics. The strongest Treatment Coordinators aren't simply explaining treatment—they are skilled at discovering what is preventing a patient from saying yes and helping them find a solution.
I would treat this position as a healthcare sales role, with measurable KPIs such as case acceptance %, treatment dollars presented vs. accepted, monthly scheduled production, follow-up conversion rate, and same-day acceptance rate.
