Part-Time Clinical Assistant (CMA/RMA/LPN/ATC/EMT) - Ballantyne

We are looking for a part-time Clinical Assistant in our Ballantyne Orthopedic location.

This team member will travel with the physician to the Indian Land office on Tuesday and Wednesday, and work out of the Ballantyne office on Thursday. The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing and coordinating orthopedic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures and testing, participating in patient teaching, communicating effectively with others, and partnering with the physician/mid-level provider in the delivery of patient care. Updating clinical notes in electronic medical systems Completing phone triage Performing routine office procedures Knowledge of EMR (Epic) Ability to triage patient telephone calls. be as accurate and concise as possible to assess patient health status and act as liaison between patient and provider. Ability to clearly and effectively educate patients, families and staff regarding the full scope of patient care needs related to the care of patients with orthopedic problems. Respond well to questions with patients, physicians/ mid-level providers and co-workers. Graduate of an accredited program for medical assistants, athletic training, or nursing. American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National HealthCareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) EMTs will need Emergency Medical Technician certification. ATCs will need to be board certified as Athletic Trainer New graduates are welcome Travel to other OC locations may be required. A typical day for the clinical assistant involves collaborating with and providing clinical and administrative support to the healthcare practitioner to ensure the delivery of high quality, compassionate patient care. The clinical assistant greets patients as they escort them to the exam room. They obtain and document past medical/surgical histories, vitals, patient medications and allergies in the EHR system (EPIC). This role assists the practitioner with patient examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures, in addition to cleaning and sterilizing rooms and equipment after each encounter. A pivotal job function for our clinical assistants is to educate patients through booklets/instruction sheets prior to minor procedures in accordance with physician instruction. This position will also orchestrate administrative duties which may include ordering supplies, stocking rooms, responding to patient messages, prescription refill requests, filing documents, and monitoring work queues in the EHR system.
