Job Summary
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves working on a high-volume, acute care hospital's Medical Surgical floor, providing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The role requires adapting to a diverse patient population, managing multiple clinical responsibilities, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams in a Level I trauma center setting.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 07/27/2026
• Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license, minimum of 2 years of recent Medical Surgical experience, BLS certification required, experience with PICC line management and starting IVs, willingness to learn and care for tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients, ability to handle up to a 1:7 patient ratio if needed, strong skills in wound care, drain management, blood product administration, and IV therapy.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner charting system experience, prior community hospital or Level I trauma center experience.
• Additional Information: The candidate must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs, including managing tracheostomy and laryngectomy patients, with flexibility for up to a 1:7 patient ratio if necessary. Must complete compliance requirements, including lab appointments, DocuSign documentation, and badge photos within one week of contract signing. Orientation includes a virtual at-home Day 1, with all modules completed by 4:00 PM CST. Floating within hospital and to nearby facilities may be required, and local candidates are accepted.
