Litigation Attorney

Chambers-recognized complex litigation firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 35 years of civil litigation experience to join our team on an in-person or a remote basis. From Santa Barbara, we litigate against some of the biggest companies and law firms, and regularly take these cases through trial. This role is focused on discovery and active case management, keeping matters moving efficiently through the litigation lifecycle. You will build the factual and discovery record that fuels our trial practice, working alongside our senior attorneys.

This is a strong fit for an attorney who is detail-oriented, self-directed, and enjoys the nuts and bolts of complex discovery.

What You Will Do:

Leverage AI to uncover and develop the facts to support our legal theories

Draft and respond to written discovery

Manage document review and production, including coordination with e-discovery platforms and vendors

Handle meet-and-confer correspondence and resolve discovery disputes

Conduct legal research and draft related motions and correspondence as needed

Argue motions

Prepare for and take/defend depositions

Coordinate with senior lawyers, associates, and paralegals

Requirements:

35 years of civil litigation experience

Active member of the California State Bar in good standing (required)

Strong track record managing discovery from initiation through resolution

Experience with e-discovery platforms and litigation case management tools

Excellent research, writing, and organizational skills

Ability to manage a busy caseload independently with minimal day-to-day supervision

Comfortable communicating proactively with a distributed team

This is an in-person position but we are open to remote for the right person. Reliable internet and a dedicated remote workspace required if remote.

Benefits: Competitive Pay - $140K - $300K plus bonus, DOE ; medical/dental offered to all full-time employees; sick/vacation/holiday pay; 401K.
