Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical settings and be comfortable handling a variety of patient needs, particularly in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience
• New travelers are encouraged to apply with at least 2 years of total nursing experience, including 1 year in a progressive care unit (PCU)
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS

Essential Skills

• Trach care and chest tube management
• Care for post Cath Lab patients, including TR band and central line maintenance
• Ability to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms
• Caring for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
• Comfortable managing cardiac patients and titratable drips, including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix

Patient Population

The candidate will work with a diverse patient population, including:

• General Medical: Diabetes Mellitus II, GI, GU, COVID-19, pneumonia, altered mental status, TIA, acute kidney injury, dehydration, alcohol-related issues, syncope, chronic kidney disease, sepsis, stroke, dialysis, pulmonary edema, anemia, shock, and hypoxia
• Cardiac: Post-interventional care for PCI, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, NSTEMI, and chest pain management
• Oncology: Providing care for patients with oncology diagnoses, familiarity with leukemia and neutropenia management (chemo administration is not required unless specified)

Work Environment

Our facility is a non-profit community hospital with a total of 226 beds. We serve a high volume of underserved and Spanish-speaking patients, requiring a compassionate approach to care.

Work Schedule

• Shift times: Days from 7 AM to 7 PM; Nights from 7 PM to 7 AM
• Weekend rotation: Minimum of 2 weekends per month, with the possibility of changes based on facility needs
• Floating within scope of practice and throughout the hospital may be required
