This team is responsible for sustaining engineering activities, product lifecycle management, design improvements, regulatory support, manufacturing changes, and investigation of field performance issues while maintaining compliance and product quality standards.This role is responsible for mechanical hardware design and sustaining engineering activities for released implantable neurostimulation products and instruments. The engineer will evaluate product and manufacturing changes, execute design modifications, support investigations and corrective actions, and collaborate across functions to ensure product performance, quality, and regulatory compliance.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and verify mechanical and electromechanical components and systems for released products.Evaluate manufacturing, supplier, and component changes to assess impact on fielded devices.Analyze complex engineering issues and implement design solutions to improve product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Identify and execute testing required to support regulatory submissions, renewals, field actions, and deficiency responses.Initiate and implement design changes, including updates to bills of materials, specifications, and engineering drawings.Support Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and Released Product Investigations (RPI), including ownership of assigned activities.Collaborate with Reliability, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Quality, and Sourcing teams to execute product lifecycle initiatives.Support product transfer and manufacturing implementation activities as required.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree2 years of experience in engineering or technical design and testingPreferred QualificationsExperience with concept design, prototyping and evaluationAbility to clearly document work, articulate and present ideas and tests results to a variety of audiences.Experience with design change management and sustaining engineering activities.Experience supporting CAPA, product investigations, or root cause analysis activities.Experience effectively and proactively supporting cross-functional teams.For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
