Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on a variety of patient types including general medical, cardiac, and some oncology cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical conditions, including but not limited to diabetes, respiratory ailments, cardiovascular issues, and acute kidney injury.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, including titratable drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix.
• Perform specialized nursing procedures, including tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and care for post-catheterization patients.
• Maintain central line care and monitor patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy.
• Conduct patient assessments and document findings in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding health management and care processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers with at least 2 years total experience including 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) are welcome to apply.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience in reading, interpreting, and measuring cardiac rhythms is essential.
• Comfortable with a high volume of patients recovering from cardiac procedures and those requiring frequent monitoring.
• Ability to care for a diverse patient population, including those who may be underserved and predominantly Spanish-speaking.

Work Environment

This position is located in a community setting with a total of 226 beds and offers opportunities to float within the scope of practice throughout the facility. Weekend rotation is required, specifically at least 2 weekends per month, with shifts scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.
