Bakery Associate

Responsible for garnishing, weighing, packaging, labeling and merchandising bakery products. Cleans the work area as required. Cleans and sanitizes bakery, bakery equipment, and bakery utensils. Re-stocks supplies and ingredients as needed. Provides a high level of member service.

Job duties include moving product filled oven racks, un-traying products from baking pans into packaging, garnishing baked goods according to item requirements, sealing and labeling bags and containers of baked goods according to merchandise manual, re-stocking baking supplies and industrial-sized containers of ingredients, scaling finished product and recording weight on verification sheets, using racks or carts to move or stock wrapped products onto tables and pallets, maintaining date rotation and merchandising presentation throughout the day, cleaning and sanitizing the bakery area including bakery cooler and freezer, sweeping, mopping, washing, applying cleaning agents, wiping, operating pressure washer and operating walk-behind scrubber, dismantling bakery equipment, washing, rinsing and sanitizing removable parts in commercial dishwasher or by hand in three compartment sinks, washing bakery containers, pans, and utensils using commercial dishwasher, wiping down stationary parts with a cleaning agent, water, and sanitizing agent, following SSOP guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position, logging sanitation procedures performed on daily reports and complying with health code, following safety and security procedures and reading labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products, collecting cardboard and trash; operating trash compactor, cardboard baler, taking the laundry to the laundry service pick-up area, performing weekly cleaning duties, assisting with other bakery duties as needed, providing prompt and courteous member service, completing and complying with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all Safety training required by warehouse and department, maintaining current product knowledge of bakery items, completing training, acknowledging standards and signing annually, ensuring proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials, ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery, assisting with department duties as necessary, assisting in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
