Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care in a high-acuity renal/medical-surgical unit. The role involves managing complex patient conditions, including renal impairments and post-dialysis needs, with a focus on patient safety and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients.
  
  
• 
  Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry to detect and respond to patient changes.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  
  
• 
  Float within scope to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to protocols and assessments to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active Ohio RN license at the time of submission.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS certification.
  
  
• 
  Possess a minimum of 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing experience, with renal experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently.
  
  
• 
  Complete a competency test on Day 1; failure results in immediate contract termination.
  
  
• 
  Be proficient in Epic EMR; lack of Epic proficiency will result in immediate termination.
