Data Scientist - Wireline

Job Purpose We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our Sciences team. In this role, you will apply advanced data analytics, machine learning, and scientific modeling to solve complex problems related to downhole tools, signal processing, and formation evaluation.The ideal candidate combines strong fundamentals in applied mathematics and data science with the ability to work in a cross-functional engineering environment.Roles & ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop data pipelines for cleaning, validation, and analysis of large datasetsAnalyze structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and anomaliesDevelop and deploy machine learning models and statistical algorithmsAutomate data workflows and analysis using modern programming toolsModeling & Technical ContributionsBuild predictive and physics-informed models to support tool development and characterizationWork with simulation outputs and experimental data to improve system understandingDevelop custom tools and frameworks for advanced analyticsCollaboration & DeliveryPartner with engineers, physicists, and product teams to translate business needs into analytical solutionsCommunicate insights and results effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholdersSupport project planning, technical documentation, and knowledge sharingExperience & EducationREQUIRED Master's degree in applied mathematics, Data Science or Physics5+ years’ experience in the Oil and Gas industryStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and presentation abilitiesProficiency in managing and interpreting large datasetsKnowledge of tool physics and tool characterizationExperience with machine learning techniquesExperience with statistical and data mining techniquesPREFERREDExperience using C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, R, SQLExpertise in areas such as formation evaluation, production logging and well integrity.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesREQUIRED Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersKnowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.Self-starter, Curious, ability to research independently and integrate knowledge from various sources into working solutions.
