Job DescriptionTalent HRizon is partnering with a growing commercial and industrial power solutions company to identify a Director of Finance who can lead the financial operations of a dynamic, inventory-intensive business.\n\nOur client specializes in the buying, selling, rental, financing, and servicing of generators and related power equipment. The company serves customers nationwide across industries including data centers, healthcare, construction, manufacturing, commercial real estate, telecommunications, and other mission-critical environments.\nIn addition to equipment sales and rentals, the organization provides turnkey services including installation, decommissioning, asset recovery, site planning, testing, transportation coordination, and ongoing generator support.\n\nThe Opportunity\nThe Director of Finance will be a hands-on financial leader responsible for strengthening the company's financial infrastructure while partnering closely with executive and operational leadership to support continued growth.\nThis position combines accounting leadership, financial reporting, FP&A, cash-flow management, inventory economics, operational analysis, and strategic business partnership.\nWorking closely with the CEO, COO, Sales, Operations, and other leaders, the Director of Finance will provide greater visibility into business performance and help guide decisions involving growth, inventory investment, pricing, gross margin, working capital, and capital deployment.\nBecause the company buys, sells, rents, finances, transports, and services high-value power-generation equipment, the ideal candidate will understand the economics of an inventory-heavy operating business, not simply corporate financial reporting.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n Lead the accounting and finance function, including monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial analysis.\n Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements and executive management reporting.\n Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts that provide clear visibility into revenue, profitability, cash flow, and capital requirements.\n Manage and analyze inventory valuation, inventory aging, turns, purchasing activity, equipment profitability, and working-capital requirements.\n Partner with Sales and Operations to evaluate deal economics, pricing, gross margin, commissions, project costs, and profitability.\n Develop financial models supporting inventory purchases, major transactions, financing decisions, investments, and strategic growth initiatives.\n Improve cash-flow forecasting and working-capital management across accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, purchasing, and customer/vendor terms.\n Establish and maintain appropriate financial controls across purchasing, inventory, payments, collections, revenue recognition, commissions, and capital expenditures.\n Build dashboards and KPIs covering revenue, gross margin, profitability, cash, AR, inventory, backlog, sales performance, and other key business drivers.\n Evaluate existing financial systems and processes and implement improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and visibility.\n Manage relationships with banks, lenders, insurance providers, tax professionals, auditors, and other external financial partners.\n Ensure compliance with applicable accounting, tax, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.\n Support executive leadership with strategic planning, scenario modeling, investment decisions, and long-term financial planning.\n Build and develop the finance and accounting organization as the company continues to grow.\n\n\nQualifications\n\n 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility.\n Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n Strong command of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and management reporting.\n Experience in an inventory-intensive operating environment such as industrial equipment, distribution, machinery, equipment rental, manufacturing, construction, automotive/heavy equipment, or field services.\n Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost structure, gross margin, working capital, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.\n Demonstrated experience partnering directly with Sales, Operations, and executive leadership.\n Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities with strong accounting and ERP systems experience.\n Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable business recommendations.\n Strong process and internal-control mindset while maintaining the speed and flexibility required in an entrepreneurial environment.\n CPA and/or MBA preferred, but not required based on relevant experience.\n Comfortable operating in a growth-oriented organization where
