Warehouse Assistant

Position Purpose This position provides assistance to the warehouse manager. Provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment for all district sites, associated buildings and adjacent grounds while promoting the mission of Perry Township Schools. Essential Job Functions Assist with receiving supplies. Appropriately organize supplies in the warehouse. Label supply deliveries for daily routes. Prepare supply deliveries for daily routes. Maintain an organized and clean warehouse for safety and efficiency. Assists with ordering supplies, stocking warehouse, and delivering necessary supplies to all PTS buildings. Delivers testing materials to all PTS schools when scheduled Makes minor repairs on equipment including scrubbers, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment. Maintains storage areas in a clean and organized manner. Assists warehouse supervisor where necessary. Sweep floors, clean shelves, organized delivery/ receipt paperwork as needed. Assist Maintenance and Grounds staff as directed. Assist with snow and ice removal Other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities or designee. Equipment Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including saws, drills, routers, planers, sanders, jointers, and stationary power equipment. Travel Requirements Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Pay Rate $18.90 per hour. Work Schedule 8 hours per day. 260 days per year. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Knowledge of computer ordering system and building delivery schedule. Knowledge that while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, dust, odors, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, freezing wet and / or humid conditions, wet/ slippery surfaces, risk of shock, vibrations and varying levels of noises/ sound. Working knowledge of tools and equipment. Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. Good physical conditions and strength with a willingness to work overtime. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Very Frequent License/ Registration/ Certification Valid Indiana State Driver's License with 4 points or less. Education High School Diploma or GED. Experience Previous experience is preferred.
