RN Surgical Nurse

Surgical Services requires highly skilled RN Surgical Nurses. This position involves various case types including orthopedic, gynecological, and general surgeries. Approximately 35% of cases will be orthopedic. General surgeries include cholecystectomies and appendectomies. Bariatric surgeries are performed using robotic and laparoscopic techniques. Orthopedic surgeries include total joints, sports medicine, cervical fusion, laminectomy, and microdiscectomy. Plastics surgeries include breast reconstruction and biopsies. Urology procedures include TURPs and cystoscopies. GYN surgeries include ruptured ectopic, total hysterectomy, D&C, and hysteroscopy. Experience with DaVinci XI robotics is required. The surgical team performs 20-23 cases per day. Candidates must have circulating experience and background in gynecological, orthopedic, and general procedures. Scrub experience is preferred. Recovery experience in PACU is required for related patient types. Surgical technicians must have experience in scrubbing for gynecological, orthopedic, and general surgeries. Surgical assistants must have first assist experience, particularly in orthopedic and robotic surgeries, as well as skills in retraction, suturing, and scrubbing. Anesthesia technicians must have experience with difficult IV access and familiarity with labor and delivery, interventional radiology, and gastrointestinal procedures. Nurses may occasionally float to inpatient units for non-patient assignments when census is low. Weekend rotations will be scheduled based on operational needs.
