Electrical Estimator (Heavy Civil Construction)

Skanska is searching for a dynamic Electrical Estimator to join our Heavy Civil team in Queens, NY. The role focuses on developing accurate, timely and detailed electrical and electronic system cost estimates for large, complex heavy civil projects, including bid‑build, design‑build, CM/GC, PPP and EPC. Responsibilities Develop accurate, timely and detailed electrical and electronic system cost estimates on large, complex heavy civil projects. Support delivery of properly organized estimates, budgets and schedules, managing Skanska’s risk. Conduct accurate quantity surveys and prepare subcontractor and vendor work scopes. Analyze quotes and estimate the cost of electrical and systems work as if self‑performed. Work efficiently as a self‑starter, meeting critical deadlines individually or as part of a team. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree – Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or similar technical training/experience. At least 3 years of relevant experience. Experience with logistical planning for construction (access, staging, traffic handling, third‑party coordination, work rules for electrical and systems installation). Proficiency with electrical estimating/engineering software such as HCSS HeavyBid, AutoCAD, OnScreen Takeoff or similar. Practical knowledge of the job area obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.
