Registered Nurse - Cardiac Med-Surg

A 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Cardiac Medical-Surgical unit. This facility is recognized as the area’s only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation, holds certification in Advanced Primary Stroke Care, and is accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center.

Position Overview

The Cardiac Med-Surg RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with a range of cardiac and medical-surgical conditions. This role requires strong clinical assessment skills, the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient status, and a commitment to delivering safe and effective care across every shift.

The RN is responsible for ongoing patient monitoring, medication administration, coordination with the care team, and providing clear, supportive education to patients and families throughout the treatment process.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments at admission and throughout each shift.
• Identify and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic response and adverse reactions.
• Carry out provider-ordered procedures and clinical interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
• Support a safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based care environment.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum required).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Acute care RN experience required within the last 3–5 years, depending on overall experience level.
• Current Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license required.
• Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and assessment skills.

Schedule
