About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead its global accounting organization. The CAO will be a transformational leader, responsible for establishing the strategic vision for the accounting function and ensuring the integrity, transparency, and accuracy of the company's financial reporting and control environment. This executive will serve as a strategic business partner to the CFO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors, providing financial leadership that supports the company's growth, acquisition strategy, and commitment to strong governance. The role involves overseeing all aspects of SEC reporting, technical accounting, global controllership, and financial operations, as well as driving accounting transformation initiatives and modernizing financial processes. The ideal candidate for the CAO position at the company will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, an active CPA license, and at least 20 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including a senior role within a publicly traded, multi-national organization. Extensive experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting, global controllership, and SOX compliance is essential. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise, a commercial mindset, and a passion for building scalable organizations. They should be a confident executive communicator, capable of simplifying complex financial matters, and an influential leader who fosters a culture of financial excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Experience in the automotive retail or multi-unit retail sector, as well as a background in Big Four public accounting, is preferred.
