Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Neuro ICU Nurse in Phoenix, Arizona. This specialized role involves providing critical neurological patient care in a Level 1 Trauma unit. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of orientation.

Job Details:

• Location: Phoenix, AZ
• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Neurological (Neuro ICU)
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 12hr / 7-7, may be placed on standby for scheduled shifts, including four weekend shifts every four weeks and holidays based on unit coverage
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification; 2 years ICU experience in a large (450+ beds) Level 1 Trauma hospital; 3-6 months travel experience; strong neuro assessment skills; ICP (Intracranial Pressure) monitoring experience; must be willing to wait for license submission
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EMR Cerner, neuro ICU experience including ICP monitoring, and prior travel experience
• Additional Information: Unit requires strong neuro assessment skills, ICP monitoring experience, and competence in critical care. Nurses will undergo a pass/fail skills lab for Foley catheter and central line dressing changes, with specific expectations for sterile technique. The role involves working into the core staff rotation, with specific unit policies for float assignments to ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Tele floors.
• Float: First to float; ICU/MS/Tele; possibly Westgate or AZ General Laveen
• Requirements for Submission: A drivers license must be included as the source of truth; travel teams must have their own vehicles; candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit testing; pass/fail exam required on day 1 of orientation (study guide provided)
• Other Notes: This role includes working with neuro patients undergoing craniotomies, brain tumor removal, spine surgeries, and scoliosis repair. The hospital's EMR system is Cerner.
• Hospital Policy: The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
