Lead Inspector

THIS OPPORTUNITY

WSP is looking for an Outfall / CSX Crossing/Tunnel Inspector to work on Howard County- Ellicott city North Tunnel. The Project will divert storm water intercepted through drop shafts at the tunnel launch site in the west end of Ellicott City, as well as Parking Lot F, and convey storm water directly out to the Patapsco River through approximately 5800Lf long 18ft diameter tunnel. The Project will consist primarily of a deep rock tunnel, constructed via a tunnel boring machine.

YOUR IMPACT

Key Responsibilities: * Experience monitoring the progress of a boring operation and ability to quantify any impacts associated with schedule or risk * Performing inspection of tunnel outfall and CSX Interface and installation of jump span bridge. * Performing inspection of tunnel and shaft construction using Drill and Blast excavation and TBM techniques. * Ensures all construction follows design specifications, is completed on schedule, and is built to quality standards. * Inspect work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and recommend corrective action needed. * Production of daily activity reports on the compliance of the work with the contract documents to include photos of the construction progress. * Witness testing performed by the contractor and provide reports on the results. * Recording deficiencies in the work and providing information for use in noncompliance reports.

• Review of reports from junior inspectors.
• Observe and report on the implementation of the project safety and

environmental plans.

WHO YOU ARE

Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or other related field.
• Demonstrated successful experience in full cycle of Underground construction,

shaft excavation, blast-and-shoot, Outfall , CSX Crossing and Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM)

• Minimum of 11 years of experience working on construction projects.
• Minimum of 5 years of Tunnel inspection or relative experience.
• Familiarity with project document control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Must be willing and able to work Weekends. OSHA 30-hr a plus.
• Good written and verbal skills.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $124,000-135,000 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
