This large, high-volume Level 2 trauma center provides comprehensive trauma and emergency general surgery services across inpatient, OR, and ER settings. The facility maintains established clinical protocols and dedicated staffing to support high-acuity surgical care. Locum tenens coverage is utilized to supplement the existing trauma surgery team and ensure continuity of services.

New York City spans five boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island - each offering distinct cultural, culinary, and recreational experiences. Clinicians on assignment may access Broadway performances, world-class museums, and outdoor spaces such as Central Park, as well as landmarks including the Brooklyn Bridge and Times Square. The city also provides family-friendly options, live entertainment, and access to surrounding areas including Long Island and Westchester.

The trauma surgeon will provide in-house night call coverage across inpatient, OR, and ER settings, managing approximately 1-2 trauma cases per night. Clinical responsibilities include trauma surgery and emergency general surgery case management, with on-site availability maintained throughout each assigned coverage period to respond to trauma activations and surgical cases. Resident support is a component of this assignment, requiring collaboration with surgical trainees during coverage periods. Board certification is required.
