The Order Entry Pharmacy Technician ensures all prescriptions are entered, filled and prepared for delivery accurately and timely under the supervision of a Staff Pharmacist.Qualifications:Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the state of Missouri, Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred2+ years of pharmacy experience, preferably in long-term care pharmacy, retail, mail order, and/or hospitalEducation: High School Diploma or G.E.D requiredMust have excellent customer service attitude and a professional demeanor with strong communication skillsPositive attitude and self-motivatedExcellent computer skills, including pharmacy operations system (FrameworkLTC experience preferred), and moderate-to-strong comprehension of Microsoft Word/ExcelAbility to problem solve and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines when necessaryWork quickly and efficiently to achieve all the daily tasks and at sometimes go above and beyond to support the teamMust be accurate and have a great attention to detailMust know HIPPA laws in regard to the privacy, confidentially, and security of patient information.Flexible schedule requiredResponsibilities:Assists the Pharmacist by accurately performing order entry, order fulfillment, and delivery preparation of medicationsCommunicate with nursing staff, physician's offices, and other team members in a professional manner with the goal of providing outstanding serviceCommunicate with third party payers to resolve rejected claimsReceives daily inventory from wholesaler and assists with identifying soon-to-expire and outdated inventory for returnAssists with full quarterly inventoryCalls third party payers to ensure correct processingOther duties may be assigned as neededPhysical Demands:The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hearThe employee is required to use hands to operate vehicles and office equipmentThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 poundsSpecific vision requirements for this job include: close, distance and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focusReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position without compromising patient care.
