THE ROLE:

The Mechanical Engineer II will play a key role in the design, development, verification, and manufacturing transfer of mechanical and electromechanical subsystems for a robotic medical device. This position requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams—including manufacturing, quality, regulatory, clinical, and suppliers—to ensure robust, compliant, and manufacturable designs from concept through commercialization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Lead as a key member of cross‑functional project teams engaged in ongoing new product development. Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies from concept through production release. Perform detailed engineering analyses including FEA, GD&T application, and tolerance stack‑up analysis to ensure robust designs. Support hands‑on prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the development lifecycle. Collaborate closely with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure timely delivery and quality execution. Support the development and execution of V&V activities, including test protocols, reports, fixtures, and test equipment. Contribute technical documentation and engineering support for regulatory submissions (FDA, ISO).

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience; medical device and/or robotic systems experience strongly preferred. Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks preferred). Demonstrated expertise in FEA, GD&T, and tolerance analysis. Solid understanding of DFM/DFA, particularly for injection molding and machined components. Experience developing and reviewing V&V test protocols and reports. Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis in a fast‑paced R&D environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional and supplier collaboration. Hands‑on experience with prototyping, assembly, and mechanical troubleshooting.
