Network Engineer

Steve Baldwin is the Chairman and CEO of Finch AI. He brings more than 40 years of experience in the federal and commercial technology markets, with the last 36 as a serial entrepreneur. He has founded and led four IT services companies focused on federal and commercial markets, the largest with more than 1,600 employees and $1 billion in revenue. As CEO, Steve has overseen twelve M&A transactions, completed financing deals totaling over $300 million, and delivered combined equity returns exceeding $500 million. Steve is a graduate of the University of Maryland and serves on several corporate and charitable boards. Todd Lasseigne is the Chief Operating Officer of Finch AI, responsible for driving the company’s overall growth. He brings more than 25 years of experience in both commercial and federal application architecture delivery, with extensive management and leadership expertise. Prior to Finch AI, Todd was a senior leader on the AWS National Security Team, where he managed a significant portion of the Human Systems business. In that role, he oversaw a comprehensive portfolio of some of the team’s largest customers and led one of the largest public sector programs. He also previously ran a successful consulting organization, helping customers merge technology with mission outcomes. Todd is a graduate of James Madison University and holds a Master of Science degree from The George Washington University. Scott Lightner is one of Finch AI’s original founders and today serves as Chief Scientist. He has led a team of data scientists and engineers who have secured more than 30 patents in natural language processing (NLP), data analytics, in-memory computing, and related fields. Under his leadership, Finch AI has built three flagship products: Finch for Text®, a real-time NLP software-as-a-service platform; Finch Data as a Service (DaaS), which delivers curated, real-time data products; and Finch Analyst, which leverages generative AI to provide entity-driven insights and alerting. Previously, Scott spent 12 years at LexisNexis as a technology leader, delivering data-intensive products for risk management. He earned his degree from Wright State University in Ohio. Candidates must currently reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the DC metro area prior to start. Salary $110,000–$180,000 — Commensurate with experience Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure supporting classified and unclassified enclaves. Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Monitor network performance and availability, resolving incidents to minimize downtime. Support network security hardening in accordance with DoD/IC security requirements. Document network architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with systems and security engineers on network integration efforts. Participate in on-call rotation and incident response as required by the program. Requirements Experience designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise or mission network environments. Working knowledge of routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF), VPNs, and network security principles. Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools. Experience supporting missions for DoW, DHS, FBI, or another national security agency. DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+) or ability to obtain within a defined period. Willingness to work onsite in the DC metro area as required. Preferred Skills Experience with multi-level security (MLS) or cross-domain network environments. Experience supporting classified network enclaves (e.g., SIPRNet, JWICS, or equivalent). Education and Work Experience 3–15 years of relevant experience, with placement (Mid, Senior, or Lead) commensurate with demonstrated experience. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
