SWME Project Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a SWME Project Manager to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX . If selected you will: Perform project management for a spacesuit water membrane evaporator development project Manage the overall efforts related to systems engineering, project engineering, test engineering and logistics engineering Manage the project team and their activities Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support Monitor cost performance for the project against the established plan Develop and maintain financial reports Develop and manage project schedule Oversee the development of procedures, work instructions and process flows Manage project risks and opportunities and ensure that a structured risk and opportunity process is followed Assess how program level changes impact project requirements and execution Interface frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA personnel, and vendors Work with the lead systems engineer to meet technical and performance goals Perform other duties as required Qualifications: This position has been posted at multiple levels. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Understanding of complex spacesuit, thermal control systems development and operations processes Experience managing and leading engineering projects Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, environmental testing, and office software Preferred Qualifications: BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of fourteen (14) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and twelve (12) years of direct engineering experience, or Ph.D. degrees and nine (9) years direct engineering experience Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures Prior experience working in a system development project/program Benefits Competitive pay Positive work-life balance 100% Employer paid insurance including: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term disability, and long-term disability 11 paid holidays annually Generous PTO 401k after 12 months of service with employer match Education assistance Relocation assistance (if applicable) Mclaurin is a unique organization with a special focus on combining the best features of research and industry in order to foster innovation.
