Windows Systems Engineer

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Location: The position requires four days on-site and one day remote. The remote day is typically Friday, but there is some flexibility.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience managing a modern corporate computing environment.

• Experience developing support processes and creating technical documentation.

• Advanced Windows troubleshooting expertise.

• Hands-on experience with on-premises imaging and Windows Autopilot (zero-touch/light-touch provisioning).

• Expert-level experience with MDM/MAM platforms supporting company-owned and BYOD devices, including phones, tablets, handhelds, and laptops.

• Extensive experience with software packaging and deployment. Experience with Ivanti Endpoint Manager, SCCM/MECM, and Intune is preferred.

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments with 500+ locations.

• Experience managing and optimizing both Active Directory and Entra ID across multiple domains.

• Senior-level engineering experience in modern workplace technologies, with a strong focus on support and operational engineering.

• Strong scripting and automation experience, including PowerShell and Ansible.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert for modern workplace technologies, providing technical leadership for solution design, development, testing, delivery, and operational support.

• Own daily operational support for corporate and store environments, including ticket management, documentation, and process improvement to reduce escalations.

• Evaluate technologies and provide recommendations based on business and operational requirements.

• Apply and enforce IT security standards across existing and new technology solutions.

• Manage systems with a high level of responsibility and decision-making authority.

• Analyze and improve system design, configuration, hardware, software, and supporting utilities across the enterprise.

• Implement and maintain tools for automation, monitoring, and infrastructure management.

• Support, maintain, and troubleshoot infrastructure components while documenting resolution procedures.

• Develop and maintain processes to ensure all corporate computing devices remain on approved and supported operating systems, firmware, and configurations.

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to plan and implement new systems and enhancements.

• Provide project effort estimates and timelines to team leads and project managers.

• Contribute to infrastructure strategy and assist with planning system deployments, upgrades, and lifecycle management.

• Prevent unauthorized configuration changes and produce audit reports to identify and remediate non-standard configurations.

• Manage infrastructure asset inventory and build strong working relationships with field engineers and vendors.

• Drive technical standards and continuous improvement to enhance service quality and responsiveness.

• Follow established production support processes to maintain system availability and improve response times.

• Support operational reporting and ensure service level commitments are met.

• Stay current on emerging technologies and continuously expand technical knowledge and capabilities.

• Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives.

This is a Contract position based out of Media, PA.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
