Work Shift Wellstar Paulding in Hiram, Georgia is seeking a PRN Radiation Therapist. This position will work PRN - as needed hours. The Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department applies ionizing radiation to a diverse population of patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. They must be capable of operating radiation-producing equipment utilizing radiation safety measures and be able to perform a series of complex and precise technical procedures. Participates in Quality Control monitoring. Delivers consistent precise therapy to a designated treatment area. Demonstrates skill in patient assessment, performing procedures and giving specialty care to patients, considering the age of the patient and appropriately adopts care for age (adolescent, adult and geriatrics). Documents appropriately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Demonstrates a willingness to perform additional tasks and gives assistance when necessary to others. Recognizes own limitations and/or needs and seeks assistance as needed. Reports adverse reactions to physician immediately and follows policy and procedure (P/P) for documentation. Follows P/P to ensure precise treatment per physician prescription. Follows P/P to ensure precise treatment per physicists' instruction in chart or computer. Simulates new patients and/or patients with new treatment fields with no errors and according to physicians written order in EMR. Advises manager of any discrepancies and any material item that needs replaced or fixed as soon as possible Participates in on-call rotation Is active as a student clinical instructor with both RTT and RTR students. Will evaluate and give feedback to both students and Clinical Advisor. Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
