Radiation Therapist FT

Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments following physician prescriptions.
Responsibilities:
- Operate radiation equipment safely and accurately, performing complex technical procedures.
- Participate in quality control monitoring and ensure precise treatment delivery.
- Assess patients, perform procedures, and provide age-appropriate care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
- Document all activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and use of treatment aids.
- Ensure safety protocols, including radiation safety badges, universal precautions, and fall assessments.
- Simulate new patients and schedule treatments according to physician orders.
- Assist with patient mobility, report discrepancies, and perform additional tasks as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotations and serve as a clinical instructor for students, evaluating and providing feedback.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates degree or related field from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Certifications: ARRT-T Radiation Therapy, BLS or ARC-BLS.
- Demonstrated ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
