Vice President, Patient Operations

Beam Therapeutics seeks a Vice President of Patient Operations to lead strategy and execution of patient scheduling and apheresis operations for its cell and gene therapy pipeline. The role involves implementing a cell therapy orchestration platform and building teams to support commercialization of risto-cel for severe sickle cell disease and future hematology programs.

Responsibilities

• Define patient operations strategy including scheduling rules, manufacturing allocation, and exception handling
• Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, regulatory, and IT to build scalable patient and apheresis processes
• Lead selection and implementation of cell therapy orchestration platform with system integration
• Work with key account management to onboard and support apheresis operations at treatment centers
• Build and manage teams executing patient scheduling and apheresis operations

Requirements

• BS/BA in relevant field; MBA, MD, PhD, or graduate degree preferred
• 17+ years total experience, with 12+ years in pharma/biotech/biopharma
• Experience in gene and/or cell therapy, particularly autologous cell therapy
• Deep understanding of cell and gene therapy operational complexity and industry trends
• Proven cross-functional leadership and team management experience
• Strategic and operational expertise in patient scheduling and manufacturing logistics
