OVERVIEW
Seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist or Registered Nurse for a permanent part-time Paid Per Service position serving Pueblo and Pueblo County.

This is a highly focused PPS opportunity requiring approximately one day per week, normally Wednesdays from approximately 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The clinician will educate, train, assess, and monitor patients using ventilators, PAP therapy, home oxygen, and other respiratory equipment.

• Maintain accurate information on assigned respiratory patients
• Provide initial and ongoing telephone follow up with respiratory patients
• Conduct patient visits according to Rotech procedures and physician orders
• Perform patient assessments that may include medical history, symptom review, lung assessment, blood pressure, oximetry, spirometry, and other applicable diagnostics
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding respiratory equipment use and maintenance
• Explain prescribed therapy, proper equipment use, compliance expectations, benefits, and potential side effects
• Set up and support invasive and noninvasive ventilators when applicable
• Support PAP therapy and home oxygen equipment
• Set up and monitor other advanced respiratory equipment within the scope of service
• Monitor equipment function and troubleshoot clinical equipment concerns
• Adjust ventilator settings according to patient assessment, physician orders, and Rotech procedures
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all services performed
• Support orientation and training of other personnel when directed by management
• Perform other duties consistent with applicable state licensure and Rotech procedures

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Permanent part time Paid Per Service employment
• Approximately one day per week
• Normally Wednesdays
• Typical schedule of approximately 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Approximately 6 to 8 hours per week
• Compensation based on completed services and setups
• No on call responsibilities
• Limited travel throughout Pueblo and Pueblo County
• Personal vehicle required
• Mileage reimbursement provided
• Independent clinical work
• Direct patient and caregiver interaction
• Opportunity to maintain clinical skills while adding a limited and predictable weekly commitment

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required
• Active applicable Colorado clinical license required
• RRT or RN credential required
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
• Reliable personal vehicle required for field travel

Preferred

• Respiratory Therapy background
• Completion of an accredited respiratory care program
• Degree in respiratory therapy or related science
• Home respiratory care experience
• Home healthcare experience
• DME or HME experience
• At least one year of related clinical experience
• Experience with ventilators, PAP therapy, oxygen therapy, or other respiratory equipment

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Familiarity with ventilators and respiratory equipment preferred
• Experience with PAP therapy and oxygen equipment preferred
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot applicable respiratory equipment
• Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Email and electronic documentation systems
• Internet navigation and research
• Computer and tablet proficiency
• Ability to operate standard office equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to occasionally lift and transport patient equipment
• Driving throughout the assigned Pueblo service territory as needed
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen throughout the work period
• Regular contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
• Close vision required for documentation, computer screens, tablets, and equipment
• Must comply with Rotech's Respiratory Protection and N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy
• Medical evaluation and fit testing required
• Annual recertification required
• Must meet OSHA requirements for proper N95 mask seal
