Layne Field Mechanic

Responsibilities Troubleshoot and install equipment as a field service technician. Maintain service trucks and equipment for field requirements. Operate equipment and tools required for shop and field repairs. Troubleshoot and repair various electrical assemblies. Rebuild, replace, or repair drill rig parts and ancillary equipment. Oversee completion of all repairs. Oversee shop fabrication and assembly operations. Locate and requisition parts for repairs. Understand and implement laws and regulations on transportation and safety. Keep shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition. Maintain accurate information for payroll reporting. Travel out of town up to one week as necessary. Qualifications & Experience High‑School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of field technician experience. Certifications & Licenses Valid driver’s license, class B required. Endorsements are a plus. Forklift, crane, and welding certifications are a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems. Ability to work irregular hours and respond to after‑hours emergency calls as needed. Previous drilling experience and knowledge of the work industry is a plus. Strong organizational skills.
