Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals by providing patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and managing administrative tasks. This position ensures efficient clinical operations while maintaining a compassionate and patient-focused environment.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Mon-Fri, 0730 AM-5:00 PM

Rooming patients, obtain vitals, screenings, allergies, processing orders, completing prior authorizations for procedures. Assisting with injections to include patient positioning, room set up, assisting physician with ultrasound machine for ultrasound-guided injections. Answer patient messages via telephone and online messaging system, medication refills

Computerized charting (Cerner), ultrasound machine for injections, EEG machine- MA would enter pt info and position

BLS certified - must be AHA.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Measure and record vital signs accurately
• Document medical information and patient histories
• Assist healthcare providers during examinations
• Administer injections as directed
• Collect and handle medical specimens appropriately
• Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding care instructions
• Sterilize and maintain medical equipment
• Ensure adherence to healthcare compliance standards

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Experience with patient scheduling software
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance
• Strong communication skills
• Detail-oriented with effective multitasking ability
• Team collaboration skills
