Materials Coordinator- 3rd Shift (Level Depends on Experience)

Job Title

Responsible for material replenishment programs in support of manufacturing build. Expedites parts to remedy shortage problems. Internally picks-up and delivers materials within company and maintains records on material flow. Ensures incoming materials are properly routed. Develops and maintains resources for assigned commodity items. Responsible for transactions to transfer inventory into warehouse, cycle counting, and other tasks as defined by materials management.

Job Description

Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature and selects best option from a set of defined procedures/solutions using common sense and experience of similar situations. Problems are typically known, defined, and readily apparent, however some issues may occasionally require fact finding to resolve. Impact will be limited, typically to the immediate team although wider impact likely in customer facing roles. Financial accountability is limited to awareness of costs and/or service level requirements and expectations.

Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments. Supports the achievement of goals through personal effort in own work area. Interacts with a range of individuals both within and outside immediate team to convey basic information. Interaction is of a day-to-day nature, requiring a professional manner, customer service skills, common courtesy, and tact.

Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience. Entry point into skilled roles May require formal occupational training or certification. Operative/Technician roles will typically operate more complex machinery/processes.

Essential Job Functions

• Review material positions at all mfg. Kan/Ban replenishment points
• Deliver material required on a daily basis based on Kan/Ban locations
• Move FG from work cell to FG stock locations
• Deliver material between buildings as required
• Perform transactions to guarantee accuracy
• Perform cycle counts
• Perform miscellaneous other materials activities
• Expedite material shortages for production floor with Purchasing
• Support ECO changes and cut-in strategies for changes
• Provide build kits to the production floor
• Support training of co-workers
• Support material needs for shipments
• May be assigned other tasks as needed

• This job requires the coordinator to be performing job functions in a light industrial setting and a cleanroom-manufacturing environment.
• May potentially handle hazardous waste in accordance with the safe work practices defined in Hazardous Communication and Hazardous Waste training programs. Initial training is required upon hiring status and every 3 years thereafter. Employees handling hazardous waste will insure that waste containers in their work areas are properly labeled and dated. Employees will ensure that waste containers are closed after transferring waste to them. Report any incidents involving hazardous waste to supervisor.
