Accounting Manager/Controller

Job description:

We are a growing engineering consulting firm based seeking a highly analytical Accounting Manager/Controller to partner with our project managers and executive team, ensuring the financial precision that drives our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Lead accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, as well as the preparation of comprehensive financial statements.
• Audit & Tax Compliance: Manage corporate tax strategy and coordinate directly with external accountants for yearly financial audits.
• Process Optimization: Identify and implement enhancements to our billing and internal financial controls to scale with our regional growth.
• Prepares, reviews, and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements, and summaries.
• Analyzes and maintains all accounts receivable accounts, refund accounts, and deposit accounts.
• Monthly financial statements to include consolidation of multiple entities
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile and explain variances to monthly revenues projections by each branch
• Prepare monthly commission reports
• Fixed Assets and capital expenditure tracking
• Weekly cash flow reporting; reviewing daily bank reconciliation
• Oversee the annual insurance audits
• Daily cash management and reconciliation
• AR collections
• Monitor AR and file liens as appropriate

  Qualifications

• Certification: Active CPA license is required.
• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in US GAAP, Microsoft Excel, and Quickbooks).
• Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders and engineers.
