Process Coordinator

KVC Academy Columbia - Vandiver CampusThe Process Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all educational processes related to Special Education laws and compliance requirements. This role ensures that Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 plans are developed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with federal and state regulations, while also aligning with individual school district practices.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and facilitate the planning, scheduling, and execution of the IEP and Section 504 process for students in accordance with special education laws and district proceduresServe as the legally required school administrator during all IEP meetingsManage due process and legal matters related to special education and represent the organization in due process cases as neededCollaborate with students' special education teams to ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and completed in a timely manner prior to meetingsEstablish and maintain effective communication with staff, school personnel, families, and outside agenciesDevelop, provide, and promote ongoing training for special education teachers and staff regarding special education laws, procedures, and compliance requirementsServe as a resource for teachers and school personnel regarding special education processes, evaluation tools, and student diagnosesSupport and maintain relationships with referring school districts in collaboration with school leadership and administratorsPartner with the Principal to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of special education staff assigned to schoolsStay informed of updates and changes to special education laws, regulations, and judicial rulings, and communicate relevant updates to teachers and administratorsAchieve established job goals and performance outcomes consistent with organizational expectationsEducation: Bachelor Degree in Education Required. Masters Degree Preferred. Licensure/Certification: Special Education Teacher Certification preferred; any Missouri Teacher/Administrator certification requiredQualifications: • Strong understanding of Special Education Law (IDEA), 504 Plans and Due Process requirements • Strong customer service focus • Excellent time management • Excellent oral and written communication • Proficiency in Word, Excel, email applications, and multiple educational record programs (Power IEP, SIS) • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in all transactions and communications Experience: Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in special education/administration/or general education Preferred Experience/Skills: • Certification in Education Administration • Experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environmentKVC is a nonprofit child placing and behavioral health agency with a long legacy of compassionately serving children and families.
