Role: Cloud Security Automation SME / Consultant Team

Location: Jefferson City, MO (Hybrid Onsite)

About the Role:

This role focuses on designing, implementing, and enhancing enterprise cloud security capabilities across multi-cloud environments . You’ll support cloud security architecture, automation, governance, compliance, DevSecOps, IAM, and monitoring initiatives for the State of Missouri.

Scope of the Project:

The focus is on strengthening cloud security architecture, AI governance, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevSecOps integration, IAM, monitoring, and automated incident response , while aligning with State security policies and enterprise architecture standards.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain multi-cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates
• Implement DevSecOps and automated CI/CD security controls
• Design and maintain IAM solutions and least-privilege access models
• Support network security, segmentation, and connectivity design
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions
• Enhance threat detection, observability, and incident response automation
• Conduct security reviews for integrations and third-party systems
• Support AI/ML governance and emerging technology security controls
• Maintain compliance with State policies and federal security frameworks

Required Skills (Ranked):

• 3+ years of hands-on cloud security experience
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider ( AWS, Azure, or GCP ) – multi-cloud preferred
• 5+ years’ experience with:
• Terraform or equivalent IaC tools
• IAM design and implementation
• Network Security
• Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting Solutions

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with State of Missouri environments
• Experience with AI/ML security or governance
• Familiarity with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) platforms
• Relevant cloud certifications

Environment and Tools:

• AWS / Azure / GCP
• Terraform / IaC Tools
• DevSecOps / CI-CD Pipelines
• IAM & Access Controls
• Logging / Monitoring / Alerting Platforms
• Security Governance & Compliance Frameworks

Additional Skills:

• Ability to work in policy-driven enterprise environments
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

This is not a basic cloud admin role you’re expected to design secure cloud architectures, implement automation, and support enterprise security governance across multiple cloud platforms . If someone only has operational cloud support experience without security engineering depth, they’ll struggle here.
