We are seeking a full‑time O&M Project Manager, ideally dual‑certified with a Florida Class A Water treatment certification. The Project Manager will manage day‑to‑day operational activities and serve as steward of the operations team for the City of Ft. Lauderdale. Responsibilities include coordination and communication with operations, client representatives, contractors and engineering firms; staff development; implementation of asset‑management and preventative maintenance programs; administration of routine and capital repair projects; and emergency response for upsets, equipment failures and other alarm events. Schedule Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. On‑call rotation and weekend shifts may be required; operators must respond to emergencies and work in inclement weather. Qualifications 10 to 15 years managing complex water or wastewater treatment facilities, including reuse, laboratory or solids handling systems. Florida Water treatment Operators License – Class A preferred. Demonstrated commitment to safety with strict adherence to SOPs, DOT, OSHA, Healthy and Safety and other regulatory requirements. Collaborative team‑leadership skills. Experience hiring, supporting, supervising and developing 10–15 employees. High school or equivalent with technical/vocational background; college degree in environmental areas preferred. Community‑engagement activities. Financial acumen overseeing operating and capital budgets. Recruiting participation and partnership with local water or wastewater schools/programs. Direct operation, maintenance and repair of facilities using predictive maintenance systems. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Oversight of an Operations Database for process control, optimization and regulatory reporting. Proven track record with regulators and strong understanding of reporting requirements. Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, HACH WIMS, report generation). Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Background check, pre‑placement physical and drug screen required. Partnership with local leadership during city staff and council meetings. Salary $125,000 – $155,000 per year, depending on experience and certification.
